Vinyl liner conversions
Swap a stretched, creased or leaking vinyl liner for a strong, seamless fibreglass shell, with the option of new built-in steps or a ledge.

Fibreglass versus another liner
Stronger shell
Fibreglass adds strength to the original pool and stands up to years of use.
No stretching or folds
Liners stretch and crease over time, which leads to damage and water loss. Fibreglass doesn't.
Repairs that blend in
Fibreglass is hard to damage, and if it is damaged it can be repaired to blend in. That's hard to do with a liner.
Long life
The colour will slowly fade like any finish, but the fibreglass stays mechanically strong.
Is my pool suitable?
What we check at inspection
Most vinyl-lined pools have either cement-sheet or steel walls, with a concrete or sand floor. Fibreglass has to bond to something solid.
- Cement-sheet or concrete walls on a concrete floor: usually suitable for conversion.
- Thin steel or tin walls on a sand base: usually not suitable as they are, because there's no solid floor once the liner comes out.
- Sand floor, but you want to convert: if a concreter pours a new floor first, we can then fibreglass the floor and walls.
Send us a photo of your pool, including under the coping where the liner track sits, and we can usually tell you straight away.
A real conversion

Questions
Common questions
Can every vinyl liner pool be converted?
Not every one. Fibreglass needs a solid surface to bond to. Liner pools with cement-sheet or concrete walls on a concrete floor are usually suitable. Pools with thin steel or tin walls sitting on a sand base usually can't be converted as they are, because there's no solid floor once the liner comes out.
What if my pool has a sand floor?
If a concreter pours a new concrete floor after the liner is removed, we can then fibreglass the floor and walls. We'll explain the options at inspection.
Is fibreglass better than a new liner?
Fibreglass is stronger, doesn't stretch or crease, and can be repaired so the fix blends in. A liner usually needs replacing again within years.
Can you add steps when converting?
Yes. A conversion is a good time to add built-in steps or a ledge.
